About Spalling Worx

Spalling Worx prides itself, in not only looking at REDECORATING a building by applying paint to walls, but in looking at REFURBISHMENT of the building, by taking a close look at the structure.

To this end, we look at damp and spalling in walls. (Please do not confuse this with waterproofing of roofs).

We work closely with our suppliers, including Sika, ABE and Stonecor. They look at each project individually and lay out a specification that is unique to an individual building. They also do regular site visits, to ensure that the specification has been adhered to.

We have invested hundreds of thousands of Rands in equipment, especially used in the spalling and concrete repairs arena. This equipment includes diamond grinders and chippers.

We work closely with Structural engineers, who we invite on a regular basis to assist in writing the specifications and monitoring of the sites.

We will rebuild entire walls which have been condemned and pin entire facades with stainless steel rods / pins where necessary.

The extent of Spalling is often not seen in its entirety, but only the tip of the iceberg shows up. It is critical.

Health & Safety

We use an external safety company, JSC Consulting. They have had a history with the department of labour for over 15 years. Full safety manuals and audits are done on all sites that require safety representatives.

The safety of our employees is of paramount importance to us. We make use of suspended swing scaffolds, cherry pickers and rope access teams where conventional scaffolding is not practical.

Each contract is issued with a unique safety plan, where routine checks and controls are implemented and are to NOSA standards. Our full safety plan is available on request. Safety manuals & audits are done by JSC Consultants, outsourced.

Quality Control

Quality is our ETHOS. All contracts are subject to a strict quality plan that conforms to ISO9000. Our quality systems are practical and allow for all stakeholders to intervene, including our clients and suppliers.

Specialised quality equipment is available to measure all varieties of weather and coating conditions. A copy can be requested. Curasure, an independent quality assurance company among others, are used on every site.
